MCS Appoints New CEO

Adrian Ramsay has this week started in post with MCS Charitable Foundation and will lead the Foundation through its start-up phase to establish a robust grant giving, monitoring and impact evaluation framework. 

Working with the Trustee Board, Adrian will provide operational and strategic leadership for the organisation to ensure that the charity promotes the value of renewables and low carbon technology through the provision of grants for education and training, research and innovation, campaigning and advocacy and partnership with key stakeholders and funders.

Adrian has a life-long passion for the environment and sustainability, and all of his career roles have been focused on these causes. Until recently he was Chief Executive of the Centre for Alternative Technology, where he led the growth and development of the charity’s work in promoting skills and knowledge around green technologies and sustainable living.

He also holds a non-executive position as Chair of Eco Attractions Group, a network of environment and nature focused visitor attractions around the UK and is an organisational development consultant, specialising in support for third sector clients.  

Previously Adrian was Deputy Leader of the Green Party in England and Wales, and a City Councillor in Norwich. He has also worked as a senior lecturer in environmental politics and economics, and as an adviser to local councillors on behalf of the Local Government Association.
